Marathon Softball Game Rules

Rules are subject to change by the event organizers.

  1. Game will last either 100 innings or until curfew.  No Inning Will Begin after 8:15PM.
  2. There Will Be No Limit to the amount of players on any roster.
  3. Each Player In Attendance will Bat in a Rotating Batting Order.
  4. Any player who begins the session will be a member of the team throughout the session.  If the player is absent when their spot in the batting order comes up, the player will be called out.  Injuries will be given courtesy.
  5. All players must play a minimum of 10 innings in the field.
  6.  Free Substitutions in the field.
  7. Courtesy Runners Can Be Provided at Any Time.
  8. Each Team Will Provide A Pitcher to Pitch to Pitch To Their Own Team.  The pitcher will be allowed to pitch either modified or arch style.
  9. Each Batter Will Receive a Maximum of Two Swings per at bat -  if the second swing results in a foul ball the batter will be called out.
  10. There will be no walks.
  11. Each team will play three consecutive innings in the field.  After three outs, the bases will be cleared.  During the first session, the last set of innings (49,50) only two innings will be played.
  12. During the last 10 innings – the sides will switch every inning.
